The peice is very well done. The quality of the picture produced is amazing. Though I personally would have had the witches be uses as bishops rather than as rooks. I always perfer to have a religious and/or supernatually inclinded things as bishops.
and In place of the rook take a classical approce and use a tower of Dracula's castle. the cat's a knights is also a bit of concern. It makes more sense to have something that can function as a warrior or the steed the warrior rides as the knight. mabey a Vampire or undead horse or something.

Very good concept... my only advice would be to perhaps vary the heights of the pedestals. For example, the pawns would have the lowest pedestals, wit the heights of the other pedestals like those of an actual chess set.
Great theme, though!
